Free Landscape Irrigation Survey

Are you a commercial, industrial or institutional organization using a considerably large amount of water in landscaped areas? And let’s not mention the water bill. Free help is available.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is offering the Landscape Irrigation Survey Program to commercial users who are searching for effective ways in reducing outdoor water-use.  Qualifying sites should have at least one acre of irrigated area.  Through the program, MWD will send a certified landscape irrigation auditor to inspect the site and provide recommendations.

During the site inspection, the auditor will review the system pressure, irrigation controllers, site conditions and irrigations schedules.  The auditor will also check for other issues that may be a contributing factor to high water usage.  These include: valve malfunctions, sprinkler misalignment, leaks, poor drainage and runoff.

Based on the results of the inspection, the auditor will provide the participant with recommendations that will also include information on conservation rebates.
