Local Water District Announces 'Water is Life' Poster Contest Winner

Hargitt Middle School Student Jarred Perez Receives Top Prize - A New Laptop Computer

CARSON, CA. - Jarred Perez has something to talk about, or electronically chat on during summer vacation. He is the grand prize winner of the Central Basin Municipal Water District 'Water is Life' Poster Contest. The Hargitt Middle School student was awarded a new Apple iBook for his award winning submission titled 'Water is Indeed Life for Plants, Animals, and People.'

"It is the highlight of our water education program to honor a creative young person from our district who best exemplifies a water environmental message," said Director Gary Morse, in whose division Perez lives. "The Water is Life Poster Contest allows us to continue to spread our water conservation message beyond our Planet Protector Water Education Program."

Jarred, a seventh grade student from Norwalk, competed against students from 19 local schools. His award winning entry will also be featured in the Metropolitan Water District's 'Water is Life' calendar.
