End Use Management Study

About the End-use Management Study using
Weather Based Irrigation Controllers

Working together with local cities and schools to address challenges related to emergency and drought, a research study was developed in 2006 with funding awarded by the Department of Water resources to test the application of wireless irrigation controllers on older sprinkler systems found at parks, schools and other large landscape areas. The study has helped to determine the capabilities of centralized water systems in the Central Basin service area to perform water deliveries under drought, emergency and peak conditions. This study was conducted in partnership with the Cities of Downey, Pico Rivera and South Gate, along with the El Rancho and Lowell School Districts.
