Central Basin's Grand Opening On June 19, 2008, Central Basin officially opened the doors of its new home during its Grand Opening event. Community members, industry partners and civic leaders joined the District in honoring its new Head Quarters in the City of Commerce.

Earth Day 2008 On April 12, 2008, More than 3,000 visitors attended the 2nd Annual Earth Day event to learn about conservation and environmental stewardship by participating in eco-friendly games, raffle drawings and by visiting the 100+ exhibits.

6th Annual Central Basin Barbecue On September 20th, more than 400 guests attended the District's 6th Annual BBQ, titled "A Year in Review," to join us in celebrating another great year of public service and reliability. The two recipients of this year's PRISM Award were Assemblymember Hector De La Torre, for his leadership in regional water supply planning; and the Southeast Water Coalition, an organization actively involved in ensuring the groundwater quality and supply reliability within the Basins.

California Friendly Awareness Week 2007 During the week of August 13, 2007, Central Basin and the City of Bell Gardens hosted five community events to announce the launch of Bell Gardens' first-ever conservation program, a citywide effort that has made it the First California Friendly City.

5th Annual Central Basin Barbecue On September 28th, more than 300 guests attended the District's 5th Annual BBQ to enjoy a Mexican-style buffet and hear Supervisor Don Knabe, the evening's keynote speaker, deliver an inspirational message on the benefits of water conservation and reuse.

Small Businesses Tour Diamond Valley Lake On June 17, 2006, Central Basin Board President Bob Apodaca invited small businesses from throughout the community to join him on a special tour of the Diamond Valley Lake, a newly developed reservoir located in Hemet, CA.
