Central Basin MWD meets the water needs of more than 2 million people by working closely with cities, retail agencies and community-based groups to deliver innovative and successful solutions. Each year, Central Basin provides approximately 60,000 acre feet of imported water to its 227 square mile service area - a region that extends across 24 cities and unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County.

In an effort to reduce reliance on imported water and conserve regional groundwater, Central Basin Municipal Water District is moving forward with Phase 1 of its recycled water system expansion, the Southeast Water Reliability Project (SWRP).
