When people ask me what Central Basin is all about, I tell them it's about people and relationships. After all, without public support and regional partnerships, we are limited in what we as a public agency can achieve. I have always been inspired by those who have worked tirelessly to affect change and learned the valuable life-long lesson that helping one another and building lasting relationships are the most rewarding paths to success. To date, I continue to apply this philosophy to our work here at Central Basin. During my tenure in the water industry, I have seen projects succeed and fail, not because of the flaws in the plan but because we often underestimate the intangibles. I have also seen great collaborations that started with trust and a simple handshake.

It's easy to overlook the basics in an industry complex and technical as ours, but in doing so, we miss out on the greatest assets available to us. The people who work for us and with us determine the difference between mediocrity and excellence. Without shared commitment and individual dedication, nothing worthwhile is ever achieved. My experience in journalism has taught me the importance of meaning what you say and saying what you mean, the basis of trust. As we look to a new and exciting future ahead of us, I am thankful for our Board of Directors and staff who are passionate about what they do and firmly believe in one another.
