Ethics in Leadership Central Basin is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all that we do. While our founding mission guides us in our progress, it is through the District's policies and practices that we maintain our commitment to our core values:
- Service
- Integrity
- Transparency
- Accountability
These are just a few of the values that shape every decision that we make. From adopting fiscally prudent annual budgets and rates, to managing construction projects within our community, we strive to engage the public in all that we do.
This is why, since moving to our Commerce office in 2007, we have held hundreds of public meetings and workshops to discuss and review key projects or decisions. In 2010, we were the first California water district to post employee salaries online. Before that, we were one of the first water districts to adopt a Code of Conduct for our Board of Directors. We were the first California water district to launch a Spanish-language website and social media campaign to better communicate with the diverse and tech-savvy constituents of our service area. These have been just a few ways that we have worked to uphold our commitment to the public.
