Rio Hondo College will Overflow with 1,000 Toilets
Central Basin and Upper San Gabriel MWDs to host region-wide toilet giveaway on August 12th
Central Basin MWD, Upper San Gabriel Valley MWD and Rio Hondo College have partnered to host the largest High-Efficiency Toilet Giveaway event in the region.
1,000 High Efficiency Toilets (HETs), which have a market value of $300 or more, will be given away FREE to raise funds for the Rio Hondo College Foundation. Money raised will go towards student scholarships and athletic programs.
Residents living in either District (an estimated 3 million people) will qualify for this exciting opportunity to upgrade their bathrooms while conserving water. HETs, which include the newest water-saving technology, use only 1.3 gallons per flush or less, compared to older models that use 5-7 gallons per flush.

Beginning in the early morning hours, hundreds of cars will begin lining up outside the beautiful Rio Hondo College for FREE, water-saving toilets. This event will be a great opportunity to get photos of families from throughout Southern California working with their local water agencies and the students from Rio Hondo College to conserve water. In addition to the toilet distribution, residents will have the chance to learn about water conservation at various information and display booths, as well as talk to local elected officials and community leaders about key water issues.

South El Monte
South San Gabriel
Central Basin MWD
Santa Fe Springs
La Habra Heights
