While the Month of May is California’s official Water Awareness Month, Central Basin is ramping up its conservation programs in June to inspire water smart living through the summer! Don’t let the recent rain that we’ve seen fool you; water conservation all year round is the key to ensuring that our water supplies are protected for future use, even during “wet” years. Local Schools Make their Mark at Solar Cup 2011

Warren High School

Local students achieved great success at this year’s Solar Cup!

Four schools from the Central Basin service area competed this year and did extraordinarily well in the annual Solar Cup competition. Norwalk High School beat out 39 other teams to win Hottest Boat Award, Warren High School (pictured above and featured in the Downey Patriot) was another big winner, taking 1st place for having the best PSA and 2nd place in the Endurance Race. Paramount High School built the fastest boast in their division and  Huntington Park High School distinguished themselves in the rookie division. From all of us at Central Basin, a big congrats to all the students and teachers who participated, you did a great job!
