Under the bridge and through the woods….here comes our recycled water pipeline!

Check out this great pic of our purple pipe being installed under the Rio Hondo Bridge, which connects the cities of Pico Rivera and Montebello.

This 30″ diameter pipe is part of Central Basin’s Southeast Water Reliability Project. Once complete, it will bring recycled water to new communities in southeast LA County for landscape irrigation and industrial use.

Great! Projects like this can only help the water challenges faced in California. I wonder what impact, economic that is, if the state paid for people to have rain barrels. It could be viewed as a $100 tax break per citizen. That in turn could save 100,000’s of gallons of water. Would it be worth it? Somebody with an MBA could probably figure it out pretty easily.

Good to see that recycled water is being put to use. Being more efficient in utilization of our resources.
