Metropolitan Water District Supports $11.14 Billion Water Bond
This week, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California voted unanimously to support the statewide water bond that will be brought to voters on November 2.
If it passes, the $11.14 billion bond measure will provide funding for the environmental restoration of the Bay-Delta, as well as for a range of water conservation and resource management programs across California. Metropolitan Board Chairman Timothy Brick, who shared his vision for the future of the Southern California water industry and the importance of the bond at our Central MWD Caucus last month, is quoted in the press release:
“This bond measure is part of a far-reaching bipartisan overhaul of the state’s water system by the California Legislature…it reflects an unparalled effort to move California into a new era of water reliabilty and Delta stewardship that is designed to benefit the state’s residents, economy and environment for generations to come.” Read the full press release here.
