Central Basin Backs AB 2045 and AB 3030
The Central Basin Board of Directors voted today to support two state assembly bills, a motion that reflects the District’s longstanding commitment to community-building through resource advocacy. See below for a summary of these bills and their potential impact on your community.

AB 2045 (De La Torre) — California Urban Forestry Act of 1978
This bill relates to a program in urban forestry to encourage the planting of trees in urban areas. The bill also expands the scope of tree-planting programs to provide urban areas with assistance in tackling such related problems as greenhouse gas emissions; public health impacts of poor water and air quality; and storm water management.
AB 3030 (Brownley) — Utility Rate Structures
This bill would clarify the procedures a retail public water district may employ when faced with an increase in wholesale water rates. Ultimately, the bill will allow these agencies to respond to rate increases more quickly and efficiently.
