		<description>Ah, those SoCal homesteads... good memories. Loved seeing the yard (in the link) using urbanite for retaining walls!

I became a permaculture designer a couple of years back; currently I&#039;m really enjoying being a member of a cohousing group up here in Oakland (annual rainfall 14 to 28 inches). We&#039;ve been capturing rainwater for a while (on the order of 800 gallons per season). We&#039;re about to embark on creating a greywater system, so we can water our fruit trees with shower/bath/laundry water.

I strongly feel there&#039;s enough water around, we just have to get much, much smarter about how we use it.</description>
